So if you need some ideas for your wedding dress this could be a good place to start.

Rustic Style Pennsylvania Wedding

Check out this entry on the Wedding Chicks blog for some inspiration.

“…we did almost everything ourselves — and in only 3 months at that.  The whole event was very intimate and casual — no bridal party, no officiant.  The ceremony was a full hour, and most of our friends and family participated on the fly.  My now husband and I really thought of the whole affair as a chance for us to throw a party for all the people who had brought us together, so most of our planning was guided by that ideal.”

Milk and Cookies Photo Shoot

A lot of diy went into the wedding planning shown on this sentry.

We put almost all of the details together ourselves. The guest sign-in area consisted of a “recipe for love” sign that detailed Ellen and Josh’s love story. Then, we had guests fill out recipe cards with their own recipes for love and put them in the recipe box. We made favors by filling milk bottles with ingredients for cookies and included the recipe on the labels. The ladies of Jonda Spurbeck Photographers were indispensable in finding the location (an unharvested alfalfa field), baking some of the cookies, and contributing props. Their photography captured our vision perfectly. The table was decorated with various items that went along with milk or baking, including a vintage food scale, an old milk carrier, and lots of vintage milk bottles filled with flowers. We also used a cookie jar from Anthropologie with a wood sign we made that spelled out “Udder-ly in Love”. We made the menu cards by nailing printed menus onto cedar shingles. We made the napkins and used twine and heart cookie cutters as the napkin rings. The runner played off of the ruffles in Ellen’s dress and was made by sewing strips of fabric together and gathering them. Hay bales served as seating.

Circus Wedding In Nashville

Planning on hiring a Sydney wedding decorator. Before you so add some of the ideas from this Nashville wedding to your "must have list"

Carli and Spence were married in a private ceremony in Hawaii. They chose to come back to Nashville and celebrate with a very detailed carnival and pink monogram heart-themed affair that featured lots of individual touches dreamed up by the bride and Sweet Life Designs. The invitation features an RSVP reply card with a tear-off “ticket” to save, while returning the RSVP with a fun madlib reply.

The venue, Country Music Hall of Fame, really set the tone for a true Nashville-style experience! Guests were first ushered upstairs for a “viewing party” to watch on a big screen the film from Carli and Spence’s beach-side ceremony in Hawaii. They were also given a reception program that featured the full menu, a cake drawing with highlights for each layer/flavor, as well as pointing out the various events that were around the reception. During the cocktail hour, guests munched on popcorn from the gourmet popcorn bar, BBQ sliders (with little flags), fried green tomatoes, sweet potato fries with garlic aioli dipping sauce while sipping the signature drinks: Cotton Candy Martini and Margarita on the Rocks (a bride and groom favorite).

The Wedding Of Sidney And William

If you are in the process of checking out Sydney Wedding Venues why not consider the tented option as featured in this recent entry on the Weddings Unveiled blog.

With a wedding date that falls on Hallows' eve, Sidney and William infused a little trick-or-treat spirit into their Rosemary Beach wedding, photographed by Rae Leytham Photography, making it the perfect wedding to feature as we head into the Halloween weekend! Sidney looked beautiful in her mermaid silhouette gown with sweetheart neckline and gently ruched detailing. She accessorized with a big floral hair fascinator and birdcage veil that were the perfect compliments to her sleek gown. William wore a tailored khaki suit with white button down, chocolate tie and fern curl boutonniere. With white garden chairs nestled on the beach and a bamboo canopy draped with muted khaki linens framing the ocean views, Sidney walked down the beach aisle with her father carrying a gorgeous bouquet of soft pink and white mixed blooms. Framed by the canopy and two large ferns on either side of them, Sidney and William exchanged vows with a stunning ocean backdrop.

A Wedding Inspired By Halloween

If you would like a Sydney wedding cake a little bit different from the others then take a look at this entry on the Style Me Pretty blog

We chose October for our wedding because we love fall and all the colors and smells that it brings. I wanted it to be rustic and warm and you can do so much with all the natural elements that fall brings!

We did a lot of DIY. I made the jam with one of my girlfriends and her mom. We got together and whipped out 178 jars of jam in 3 and a half hours! I did the labels on the jars as well. I had a custom stamp made from impressrubberstamp.com and cut out the circles with a 2″ whole cutter from Michaels and just used hemp string to tie them on. I just stamped it onto cardstock and cut them out then used a tiny hole punch to put the string through. I also made the “CAKE” sign. I used the same font from the programs and just blew it up to fill a page with each letter and my mom sat at my dining room table and cut them all out! Then we just bought one of those “Autumn” cardstock books from Michaels and pasted the letters onto the cute paper.

French Cafe Wedding

If you are planning a wedding and are at the stage of organising your bomboniere gifts you might like to check out the ideas on this recent Style Me Pretty blog.

Our family is sort of like The Brady Bunch, circa 2010. Scott has 3 kids and I have 2 and we are a modern blended family, complete with all the joys and challenges! We are happy to report that embarking on this wonderful journey has allowed us ALL to grow and blossom as a family and individually and we know the best is yet to come! We wanted an intimate wedding with only our family and close friends. We chose the beautiful & romantic Spring Mill Cafe as our venue because when we walked in to the candlelit byob owned by renowned French Chef Michele Haines and her son, Ezra, one winter evening to have dinner, I immediately I knew from the expression on Scott’s face that we had found our place…

Gorgeous Images Of A Halloween Wedding

It you are in the middle of planning a wedding and are at the stage of looking for a Sydney wedding photoographer you don't need to go much further than this entry on the Style Me Pretty blog for plenty of ideas.

Thorpewood, perched high a top the Catoctin Mountains in Maryland, is a sought after wedding/events retreat. Corey and Bruce are both actors in Hollywood, but have family ties near Frederick Maryland, so the dramatic Halloween date and the equally dramatic setting that Thorpewood provided was a perfect match.

The grooms family are both Scottish and donned their respective traditional tartan patterns. The bride wore glamorous 1940′s inspired gown and details. The luxurious bronze palette was woven through every detail of the day…from bridesmaids dresses, to programs, to table linens.

Halloween Inspired Wedding

I f you are looking for a Sydney wedding dress or bridesmaids dresses you might find some inspiration in this recent entry on the Style Me Pretty blog.

Anthony and I met at his sister (and my friend) Abra’s wedding in Chicago. Anthony proposed to me during a hike with our dog Nico at Tangerine Falls in Montecito, CA. We spent an enchanted engagement weekend in the Santa Barbara area and ultimately decided to hold our wedding there eight months later.

We held our ceremony in the outdoor courtyard of the Santa Barbara Historical Museum. Because our reception fell on Halloween night, we wanted to hold a fun but tasteful party, so we decided to host it at the Biltmore Hotel and to transport our guests via antique-style trolleys. We were inspired by an abandoned mansion look, and offered a handmade-candy treat table, a tarot card reader, holiday crafts and activities in the childcare room, an energetic dance floor, and finally staged a send-off to the beach through the salute of our guests’ sparklers.

Autumn Wedding Colours

If you are looking for http://www.topsydneyflorist.com.au/ you mightbe inspired by the Autumn colours shown in this recent entry on the Wedding Chicks blog.

According to the bride:

“I love autumn and wanted the decoration and flowers to resemble fall colors with dried grasses, pumpkins and fall foliage.  Eric’s mother found large pumpkins she hollowed out and filled with water, then placed heart shaped floating candles in them, she also got mini pumpkins we used as place card holders, Eric’s sister made all the name tags attached to the mini pumpkins with pins.  We found Martha Stewart craft punches of oak, maple and aspen leaves and punched out of fall colored card stock to create fall leaf confetti for the tables. I contacted Palmer Flowers and they made centerpiece wreaths with curly willow, wheat, bear grass and red and green eucalyptus leaves and buds.  In the center we had red and orange candles.  I wanted a bouquet with lots of texture and color, I had a hand tied bouquet with lotus pods, fiddle fern, coxcomb, Leonidas roses, hypericum berries, flame calla lilies, curly willow, feathers, eucalyptus buds, bear grass and pin cushion protia, all wrapped in ivory satin with chocolate satin crisscrossed ribbon.  Eric’s Boutonniere had a flame calla lily, feather, and fiddle fern curl.”

San Francisco Wedding In A Dream Venue

If you've been working hard looking at all the available Sydney wedding venues it's a good bet that you will not have seen anything as beautiful as the venue used in the San Franncisco wedding recently feaured on the Style Me Pretty blog.

Jessica Leao and Cassidy Zerrer were married on October 10 at one of California’s most sought-after and elegant venues, San Francisco City Hall. Inspired by Jessica’s dream of an “enchanted fairytale” with “lots of crystals” and a pink and gold-toned palette, Maxine and her talented team created a magical evening. The dramatic Rotunda was a natural choice for the ceremony with its French Renaissance-style Beaux Arts architecture and beautiful dome soaring more than 300 feet overhead. The arches into the Rotunda were accented with antique gold silk drapes and golden chiavari chairs awaited guests along with individual ceremony programs and silk-bagged pieces of Chinese jade in a nod to Jessica’s heritage. A gold-bordered fuchsia aisle runner marked the path to the ceremony area on the landing of the Grand Staircase, beautifully defined by ten foot “trees” stunningly bedecked in mosses, lichens, clusters of pink and red blossoms and swaged with crystal garlands.

See all the beautiful images here.

DIY ceremony chair flowers

You've planned the ceremony, you've booked the venue, youve appointed the Sydney wedding celebrant.

You will need:

- Mason jars (your choice of size, a variety can create a little whimsy)
- Fabric (I used burlap, but a colorful print can be fun as well)
- Lace
- Ribbon
- Wire
- Hot glue or fabric glue
- Pliers

Pennsylvania Wedding

Much of the work involved in organising this wedding was done by the couple themselves.

This included the wedding catering

We decided to have the wedding at my parents farm in Kempton, PA, because it’s absolutely beautiful in the summertime (when everything is lush and green!) and it’s special to me and Josh -it’ s where he picked me up for our first date. Although I loved the idea of an outdoor wedding, I wanted to have a “plan b” in case of rain, so we ended up cleaning out the barn to use for the ceremony (and reception in case of rain). We hung an old, ornate headboard above the “alter” and the barn shelves were lined with an old blue glass bottle collection I bought at a yard sale last spring..

Washing State Wedding

One of the latest entries on the Style Me Pretty blog features a wedding where the couple did all their own wedding planning.

They also did 99% of the work.

The food [was] homemade by our families. We had a bbq reception with tons of sides that our families made ahead of time. For dessert, we had a small tiered cake by Pure Bliss Desserts as well as triple chocolate cheesecakes (made by Ben’s sister) and tons of Italian cream cake (made by Ben’s dad). We also had drawers filled with homemade cookies and old-fashioned donuts.

Andrew and I currently live in Chicago, IL. I grew up outside Boston and Andrew grew up in the Chicago area. We met when we were both in college at Vanderbilt and continued on to live in Charlottesville, Virginia for 3 years while Andrew was in law school. We loved living in the south, but moved up to Chicago to be closer to family. Planning the wedding from half way across the country was difficult but we pulled it off!

Halloween Wedding Cakes

An Interesting article about halloween wedding cakes on the Bridal Bar blog. It feaures many images,

One of our favorite parts about weddings is the cakes.  It shows so much about the couple, the event, and their style.  So this being Halloween week, we wanted to share some of our favorite Halloween cakes for those more adventurous couples - everything from infamous movie villains to creepy characters and good ol’ Halloween classics!

Islamadora Wedding

Many Images of a stunning wedding dress featured in this entry on the Style Me Pretty Blog.

Ariel and Andrea wanted a carefree and genuine, yet chic affair for their family and friends.  The Miami residents were looking for casual comfort and achieved this by creating lounging nooks both inside and outside of the Pierre’s oceanfront venue. Crisp white lounge furniture groupings were accentuated by their accent colors of navy blue and yellow for that “nautical chic” look. The dining room at Pierre’s was transformed with elegant and clean designs featuring white french tulips along with breakaway vases cascading across the table showcasing white hydrangeas, polo white roses and white irises.  The final touch of class came from an extravagant amount of multi-level candles which created the perfect romantic feel. The couple shared their first dance in the sand surrounded by guests holding sparklers.

Graphic Designers Wedding

Fabulous wedding stationery at this graphic designers California wedding.

Jocelyn and Cortney ’s wedding was truly a beautiful reflection of a couple that loves California’s beaches and sunshine. Jocelyn designed her own wedding invitations, escort cards, menus, chocolate bar favors, as well as the custom wine labels.  She and her husband, Cortney, made everything so personal through all of their planning! We are loving the simple laid back beach decor and all the lovely small details. Especially her Nicole Miller wedding gown. Nicole Miller seems to make the perfect wedding gown for a beach side wedding. Don’t you think?

Missouri Winery Wedding

The timber lined room made a stunning wedding venue for this Missouri wedding described on the Style Me Pretty blog.

“From day 1, we knew we wanted to focus the wedding around family and try to make it feel as personal as possible even with a guest list of around 250. So, when we traveled from Chicago to visit the small, German winery town of Hermann, Missouri to look at venues, the decision was simple. My grandparents were married 69 years ago in the small neighboring town of Rhineland, Missouri in a small church just up the street from the farmhouse where my Granny grew up. We decided to be married in that same church, and pack it to the brim with our families and friends. The feeling of being there, surrounded by our families and several generations of my heritage in that town was amazing and we were so blessed to have both of my 92-year-old grandparents in attendance. The image of the hands on the church pew is of my Granny’s hands, and one of my favorite images of the day.

Seashell Inspired Wedding

Fabulous wedding decorating at this seashell inspired wedding that was recently featured on the Style Me Pretty blog.

Matt and I met in 2004 at a show for a local bluegrass band here in Lexington, KY. We are both big live music fans and LOVE the jam band- Widespread Panic. We have continued to travel with friends all over the country and abroad to see their shows as well as other live music. The song that was sung at our wedding by my best friend was a Widespread Panic song called “Longer Look”. The lyrics also appeared on the first page of the wedding program.

New Jersey Wedding

Fabulous wedding catering arranged for this New Jersey wedding recently featured on the Style Me Pretty blog.
The bride said:

We met through a mutual friend after I graduated from college and he proposed (with a beagle puppy!) 2 years later in August 2009. A few weeks after the engagement, I began graduate school and my mom, Dale Lippart began wedding planning/directing me on what to do and when. With lots of family traveling from upstate New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, The Conservatory in Morristown, NJ was an ideal location. I am Jewish and although Erik is not, we decided to have a nontraditional Jewish ceremony at The Conservatory. We stood under a chupah and Erik broke a glass after we are pronounced husband and wife, and we were married by my step-dad, who happens to be a judge in Pennsylvania.

Santa Barbara Wedding

Everything is just perfect about this Santa Barbara wedding. I especially liked the wedding cakes.

Elizabeth & Matt are from Chicago and came to Santa Barbara to host their dream beachside wedding. For the ceremony they wanted a slightly french, wine-country theme. Kirsten of Blue Magnolia (the florist) sourced gorgeous wine barrels to flank the couple while they said their vows.

Wedding with DIY charm

The wedding celebrant obviously has a good line in jokes at this wedding recently featured on the Style Me Pretty blog.

Chck out the photograph.

Cedric and I got married on our 5 1/2 acre farm in the historic district of Opequon. I made everything from all of the bridesmaids jewelry and hair pieces to all of the boutonniere that the men wore. One of my bridesmaids made my cake and another bridesmaid did my make-up. I made signs for the wedding as well as tons and TONS of pom poms for the tent that were all made from old dress patterns. The tent was surrounded with prayer flags made from antique hankies. I made all of the invitations and save the dates myself. I bought a pair of white, leather shoes and added added antique shoe buckles to them. My veil was made from an old brooch and antique comb. All of the men in the wedding carried antique pocketwatches. (groomsmen gift)

There are lots of really good ideas.

Southern California Wedding

Stunning wedding photography is a feature of this wedding featured recently on the Style me Pretty blog.

The wedding was held at Sunstone Winery in Santa Ynez, California because of the amazing cuvee cave on site, vintage portico, and bountiful vineyard rows. The mix of vintage and modern elements, rented from the FOUND vintage collection, created an eclectic feel that came together in both our wedding location and reception site. The reception was at Bradley Ogden’s Root246 restaurant near the winery. Mixing a very modern restaurant with the old-world aesthetic of Sunstone was a challenge. But the theme helped tie the venues together.
All the details can be seen here.

Classic Peach Wedding Ideas

Says the bride:

After a magical time in Zion National Park renewing our vows we could hardly wait for the big party in Pennsylvania to celebrate with those who were unable to travel. New Mexico Wedding

Lots of great ideas and beautiful wedding stationery featured in this recent blog on the Style Me Pretty blog.

It was important for Kyle and I to reflect two things: love and family. We wanted an intimate wedding in a romantic, organic place – Santa Fe stole our hearts. Our wedding day was chaotic, yet calm… filled with laughter and genuine emotion. We are the luckiest.

The decor was inspired by our love for succulents, bohemian vintage design and our American Indian/Irish heritage. Kyle and I hand selected everything from the vintage amber jars to the herringbone kitchen towels. Etsy, vintage shopping and DIY projects saved us. We meticulously designed the invitations, ceremony cards and menu cards (with the help of Suann Song of Simple Song Designs). We successfully incorporated our personalities through each piece …”the good stuff” – ceremony programs, “the yummy stuff” – menu cards, “the sweet stuff” – cake table.

Kyle and I met on St. Patty’s Day and coincidentally, our families are both Irish. We chose to reflect this by tying miniature gold four leaf clover charms to the invitations and menu cards. Photos of our grandparents were clipped to the menu cards with a “love” clothespin and American Indian feathers were used for added detail. Buckeye seeds (a good luck charm in American Indian folklore) were hand picked by my grandmother and strewn together in groups of 15, to represent the day Kyle and I met. They were placed on the ceremony programs and kept by guests. The bouquet and reception flowers were inspired by my favorite store, Anthropologie. peaches, creams, purples, yellows, pinks … a true bohemian combination.

Stylish Wedding In Saint Louis

Simple but stylish wedding place cards were used in this wedding featured on the Style Me Pretty blog.

One of the most important parts of our wedding day were the people who were there to share it with us. Each one of my bridesmaids stood by my side for a reason and I wanted them to know how special they are to me. So, I personally chose the bouquet they were going to carry based on the meaning of the flower itself. Right before we left for the ceremony, I gave my girls a handwritten letter describing what flower I chose for them – including its meaning. To top it off, my bouquet consisted of each of their flowers – representing how I became who I am. I also added a family tradition – stephanotis, which my mother and sister in law (my Matron of honor) carried in their bouquets. The groomsmen had coordinating single blooms on their vest to match the bridesmaid they walked down the aisle. My bouquet was tied with Sam’s grandmother’s hanky, that she got from her groom over 50 years prior. I was lucky enough to be one of the several brides who carried that in his family.

Colorado Wedding

Great ideas for wedding bomboniere featured on this recent feature on the Ruffled blog.

From the bride, Abbey: Dan decided early on in the planning process that top hats were high on his list of “must haves.” A nod to his British heritage, this started the ball rolling. Having both grown up in theater (with mothers who are both costumers) we knew that drama (and DIY) would play a big part. More than aesthetics, however, we knew we wanted a wedding that was a uniquely “us” and so we set out to incorporate meaning into every detail so nothing was included unless it spoke to our lives, our families and our love.

Nevada Wedding

DIY played a big part in the wedding decoration of this Nevada wedding.

With the help of my fabulous friends and family, I was able to do so much DIY! I really think that the hands-on aspect of this really made the day and all of the details that much more special. Most of the décor was hand-made, some was thrifted, and some things were items that we have in our home. We literally sewed yards and yards of fabric flags, not to mention the bow ties for all of the guys. Baking the desserts was really the only option for me, I not only felt like I had to…but I really, really wanted to! Most of my family and friends know about my blog and many haven’t tried anything that I’ve made, so this was really a time for me to share with them. A lot of people told me that I would be overwhelmed by all the tasks I took on, and though it was a whirlwind of baking, crafting, canning, and sewing in the weeks and days before the wedding, I really wouldn’t have it any other way.

I call Mindy Rice my sorcerer because she really is. From our first meeting, she swirled her unique and enchanting ideas to create the ambiance of the evening. She took all of my musings and turned them into a reality – with succulents, an eclectic mix of dainty flowers, mirrors, vintage pieces and a strand of the unexpected with black lace accents. Together, we chose church pews to lend a Sunday School feel and built lovely and fun-filled spaces for the children. The touches were themed around magic as we had a magician entertain the children as the adults were eating dinner. We placed top hats and magician gloves along with treats and surprises around the table. The children were enthralled and the specialness contributed another level of sweetness to the evening. Both Kirk and I are extremely involved with our nieces and nephews and it was important to us that their joyfulness be evident each moment.

Oregon Wedding

The wedding photography is stunning in this recent post on the Style Me Pretty blog.

“Starting from the details, Drew did everything, and I mean EVERYTHING on her own. We were amazed that they were able to stick to a very small budget and turn out one of the most personal, chic weddings we have been to! First of all, Drew decided she wanted succulents to be a part of her floral arrangements for the day. So, she grew succulents for the past few months in preparation for her big day. The day before the wedding, she and her bridesmaids went on a walk through a field near her Bend home and picked the rest of the flowers used in the bouquets. This is incredible when you look at how perfect they are!! She put together the bouquets on her own, wrapped them in inexpensive twine, and picked a personalized button for each bridesmaid. She also made mini bouquets for the flower girls, the boutonnieres, and her arrangements.

DIY Inspired Backyard Wedding

Wedding flowers are everywhere is this beautiful wedding which was recently featured on the Style Me Pretty blog.

Brandon’s favorite thing to talk about is the desserts, which is actually a long conversation because there were treats everywhere at our wedding. When guests arrived they were greeted by a lemonade stand that served lemonade from a cheery vintage jug, Brandon’s mom’s perfect chocolate chip cookies, and juicy long-stemmed strawberries that we found at the farmer’s market the morning of the wedding (and that I dared to eat in my wedding dress while waiting in a bedroom to walk down the aisle…I can’t believe I did that!) Immediately after the ceremony guests were served artisan pizzas along with the crowd-favorite–Italian sodas in any flavor. For dessert we served cupcakes–chocolate, carrot and coconut handmade by my sisters and friend–and berry tarts and chocolate covered strawberries made by Brandon’s mom.

Southern California Beach Wedding

The Wedding Chicks blog  has just featured a gorgeous California wedding. From Bella Sera Event Design on how this Nautical masterpiece came to life. the article is packed full of fantastic ideas including some beautiful beach wedding invitations.

Everything I do starts with a wisp of an idea. It can be something as simple as a photo of an exotic locale, an outfit that someone is wearing on the street, or a piece of jewelry I find in a vintage boutique. This particular inspiration came from the memory of a little girl..that little girl was me…me and my girlfriend sitting around and musing about mermaid’s and love and of course our weddings….some twenty something year’s later I decided Bella Sera Event Design absolutely needed to do a nautical inspiration shoot.

North Carolina Dairy Farm Wedding

Check out the wedding dress and western boot combination shown is this recent post on the Style Me Pretty Blog.

From the bride, Heather -

Seth and I have began our adventures together almost 5 years ago. From the beginning, I always knew he was “the one”. I feel so blessed to have him in my life and to spend the rest of my life with my very best friend. About two years into our relationship Seth joined the Marine Corps. Trying to plan a wedding around the military is quite difficult and felt like even setting a date was impossible. The weekend before the wedding, the military told Seth he wasn’t going to be able to come home for the wedding. But, our faithful God allowed a way for him to come home two days prior. As if that wasn’t enough stress, two days before the wedding, a windy tornado storm came through the wedding site and knocked down trees everywhere. We are blessed to have a community that is so loving and knows how to use chainsaws!  On our wedding day, the skies were blue, weather was beautiful, and everything was more than perfect.

When Seth and I began our wedding planning journey, our main goal was to keep the theme very relaxing and to be ourselves. With both of us being brought up on farms, we knew we should incorporate our roots into our venue and decorations. And that is exactly what we did. We chose to celebrate our special day on the family owned Payne Dairy Farm where Seth was raised. We looked into other venues but nothing gave us the feeling of “home” like actually being home.

Lynne and Garretts wedding

Check out the wedding bouquet and other stunning ideas on the June Bug blog.

According to the bride:

Lynne and Garrett wanted to have a fun, modern, lounge-like wedding with an intimate guest list of 65 of their closest friends and family. They chose to plan a destination wedding at The Wit Hotel in Chicago so their loved ones would experience true time off and be able to let down their hair. "Although it was difficult to keep the list so small, it allowed us to enjoy the day. Your wedding day goes by so quickly... some of my best memories are being part of the party after the lights went down instead of trying to get to every table to say hello. Our guests were away for the weekend and ready for a great time. Nobody had to get to work in the morning... what a great atmosphere!"

Modern Chicago Wedding

Check out the stunning wedding venue used for the reception in this wedding featured on the Style Me Pretty blog.

According to the bride:

Our ceremony location was any easy decision. Once we decided that we’d get married in a church, I knew it would be Holy Name Cathedral.

The venue search was a bit more difficult.  We wanted the space to accommodate an outdoor area for the cocktail hour (and an acceptable alternative should weather be a factor), capacity for over 200 guests, late end time, something unique (no ballroom) AND someplace that we’ve never been to for a wedding!

When we visited the Chicago Illuminating Company, we were floored. It’s located in a very urban, off-the-beaten-path part of the city. The space is a former warehouse/power plant and has a very raw, loft-like feeling. It didn’t feel like a typical wedding venue and was just cool. And it satisfied all our criteria, so we were sold!

Griffin Observatory Photo Session

The Perfect Bound blog has just featured a Griffin Observatory photo session.

They describe it as follows:

Today we're welcoming Ashleigh Taylor Photography to Perfect Bound as well as Dani and Tony. This fabulous duo recently eloped to Las Vegas. Sneaky devils. (No wonder they look so adorable.) When they got back home, they called up Ashleigh to set up a somewhat traditional wedding day shoot, but with way more mischief.

Check out some of the stunning wedding photography by clicking here.

Michigan Barn Yard Wedding

The Wedding Chicks has just featured a Michigan Barn Yard  wedding.

"Alexa and Nathan were married in Troy, MI where her and her family attended church. The cross in the church was hand carved in honor of Alexa’s father who passed away a few years back. After the ceremony, the  guests drove about an hour to The Huntsman Hunt Club. Since it was such a far drive, the bride made handmade goodie bags filled with with water and cookies. She stamped it with her own personalized bird stamp. Read on to learn more about this Michigan wedding shoot by Veldman Photo ."

Among other things on offer were some beautiful wedding cupcakes

Chicago Farm Wedding

The Wedding Chicks blog has just featured a Chicago Farm Wedding.

"The couple was married at Alexa’s family farm in the northwest suburbs of Chicago where not only her parents were married, but her two sisters as well.  The farm is full of the family’s precious antiques and heirlooms, and nostalgia lingers in the air. They chose the 39th anniversary of Alexa’s parents, June 26th to wed.  They tied the knot in the same small church as her parents and sisters before riding in her grandmother’s Rolls Royce to the family farm.  Cocktail hour was enjoyed surrounding the pool and later guests moved into the tent to dance the night away to an 8 piece orchestra."

Among many other inspirational ideas the used a beautiful old Rolls Royce as their wedding car.

Stephanie and Robbie's country wedding took place on a beautiful sunkist day at Three Points Ranch in Texas were Two Pair Photography was on hand to capture every moment. The event was designed in cheery palette of golden yellow, lime and shades of orange ranging from a bright sunkist to deep persimmon. Stephanie wore a flowing strapless sweetheart gown with empire waist and her brown locks pulled back with a fingertip length veil. Her bridesmaids wore short dresses in a variety of silhouettes, but all in the same lime green hue. The girls carried vibrant wedding bouquets of gerber daisies, ranunculus and roses along with Stephanie whose bouquet was wrapped in a hanky monogrammed with her soon to be last initial. A country wedding would never be complete without cowboy boots, which all the girls wore including the bride in a pair of white boots to match her gown. Robbie and his groomsmen wore pinstriped vests and pants with white button downs and belt buckles. Robbie added a suit jacket, persimmon necktie and a yellow gerber daisy and deep orange ranunculus boutonniere to finish his look.

Canadian Winery Wedding

Wouldn't you like to try one of the wedding cupcakes shown in the latest entry on the Style me Pretty blog.

This Canadian wedding features lots of handmade touches.

Nicole and Nathan live in Vancouver and planned their wedding in one of the Okanagan Valley’s beautiful vineyards, in Kelowna, BC. They were such an adorable couple. Nathan had Nicole giggling and smiling constantly with funny expressions and secret whispers. They were glued at the hip! I loved their style from Nathan’s Buddy Holly glasses down to his boots with the untied laces and the beautiful feathers in Nicole hair. Nicole made an amazing inspiration scrapbook that she gave to their amazing wedding planners, Danielle and Ria, of Stage Right Etc and they really drew from that and made it amazing. Nicole started crying when she thanked them because she thought it was so gorgeous. Pretty cute.

Vintage Inspired Wedding

Traditional isn't the only way to go when planning the floral arrangements for your wedding table.

The latest entry on the Style Me Pretty blog shows a wedding where great use has been made of feathers and succulents.

Great emphasis was also place on cocktails.

First, Josh is a true connoisseur of cocktails – an expert, of sorts, on the prohibition era. Which we loved, because it created an extremely interesting backdrop for the design and details for their wedding. We brought in a stunning solid wood bar that was created for a speakeasy. Josh carefully chose the drinks that would be available at the bars – there were only four of them. We arranged to have the specially chosen bartenders attend a dress rehearsal where they learned, not only how to make these very special drinks, but how to move, how to speak to the guests and how to dress. We provided them with the authentic details that dressed them up that day. There were “House Rules” as there were in the Chicago Speakeasies and recipe cards for the guests for each of the four drinks. The guests were totally charmed by all the details. It was truly amazing

California Vineyard Wedding

Thinking about wedding cars?

Check out the convertible Cadillac featured in many of the photos on the latest entry on the Style Me Pretty blog.

There are plenty of other good ideas featured too.

According to the bride:

“Geoff and I really wanted to make sure that our wedding was truly a celebration about us: Angela & Geoff. I didn’t want to get lost in all the details that come with planning a wedding but, there were definitely certain elements we wanted to include like my Chinese heritage for one, our love for fine wine and dining, the outdoors, and honoring our parents who got us here today.  Our vision was really simple, “East meets West” themed garden party, a bit of vintage glamour mixed with subtle hints of Asian and English influences, bright colored lanterns, lots little kids running around, and lots of love and laughter.

Cutting The Wedding Budget

Saving money is one often overlooked aspect of wedding planning.

There is a very interesting and useful article on the Austin Wedding Blog.

As a recent newlywed, I know first hand that planning a wedding can be expensive. The average cost of a wedding in 2010 is $23,867 and while this may seem like an eye-popping number, it's not hard for a bride and groom to easily spend this amount to put together and celebrate their big day. Don't get me wrong, I've seen some spectacular budget weddings (1K-5K) that are truly stunning, but most brides don't have the time (nor talent) to create a DIY project for every aspect of their wedding. Luckily, there are other ways you can shave some dollars and not feel like your skimping on the important parts of your celebration. I wanted to share a list of budget tips that most brides can use to help keep your wedding budget on track. If you have any other tips that you want to share, please leave them in the comments! We'd love to hear from you!

The Wedding of Angie And Tim

I like the use made of lights in the wedding decoration.

It was a beautiful Summer day for Angie and Tim's wedding at the quaint seaside town of Carillon Beach, FL photographed by talented husband and wife team Rae and Wesley from Rae Leytham Photography and coordinated by the wonderful Victoria of Carillon Weddings. Angie wore a romantic figure hugging lace gown with sweetheart neckline that she paired with a chapel length veil and carried a bouquet of cream and the palest shade of pink roses. Dressed in a khaki summer suit with white button down and patterned tie in clover, Tim met his bride at the end of the aisle at the Meeting House where they wed. The all white venue with hardwood floors and big open windows was only decorated with the natural wood chairs that lined the aiselway leading up to two columns with large potted plants flanking either side of Angie and Tim as they exchanged their vows in the intimate chapel setting.

The Wedding Of Susan And Chris

The Recycled Bride Blog features eco friendly weddings and the wedding of Susan and Chris is no exception.

I particlularly liked the use of the family recipe books as wedding favors.

Read the full story:

For startes, instead of a typical bouquet and garter toss, they had a dance to see who of their guests had been married the longest. The DJ cued couples to begin stepping off the floor if they’d been married less than 5 years, less than 10 years, etc. Then the last couple standing won the bouquet and garter! They also had a University Fight Song throwdown for all of their loyal college sports fan friends. When the fight songs to the major Universities represented (CU, CSU, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Texas A&M, and Tulsa) were played, guests had to cheer as loud as they could. The school alums with the most spirit got an autographed football signed by Chris and Susan.

Perfect Montana Wedding

Check out the oriiginal use of wedding flowers on the latest entry on the Style Me Pretty blog

If I could live forever inside of this next perfect wedding…I could die happy. The backdrop is of course insanely beautiful, but it’s the photographs that Mary Beth Tyson snapped, that have completely taken my breath away. Add to that a bride that could quite possibly be the most lovely bride I’ve ever seen, with her laid back completely effortless beauty, a handsome groom in a fedora, their three year old little piece of perfection and well, it’s pretty much a fairytale realized

Katie and Justin

Katie and Justin’s wedding is the perfect combination of vintage inspiration and handmade elements, with birds, birds everywhere! Katie designed all of the elements of the wedding herself, and chose a color palette of pinks and peaches to complement the lodge-style details of Clearwater’s beautiful Carlouel Yacht Club.  The result is wonderfully soft and elegant.

This wedding is reviewd in full on the Elizabeth Ann Design Blog.

About their ceremony, Katie shares:

“When Justin proposed to me, he never got down on one knee. Throughout our engagement, I always gave him a ‘hard time’ about it, and joked that he should finally get down on one knee during our ceremony. Well, he definitely surprised me when, after our wedding celebrant had him place my wedding band on my finger, he got down on one knee so he could slide my engagement ring back onto my hand! All of our guests let out a collective ‘AW!’ and I couldn’t help but laugh at the sweet gesture!”

New Jersey Wedding

The combiination of blooms and berries really makes the wedding flowers stand out at this wedding.

"We are going to start the pretty parade with such a cute wedding. I am the hugest fan of really getting creative with a venue whether that means renting a big loft space, a camp ground, or in this case a former mill in New Jersey. How cool is that? Photographed by Meegan Weaver, this is a rustic, organic floral wonderland and you can see the whole beautiful enchilada in the gallery."

Saratoga Springs Wedding

Check out the beautiful wedding decorations used in this New York Wedding.

Nichole and Luke were married in Saratoga Springs, NY earlier this summer and planned a truly beautiful, classically elegant formal wedding. San Francisco Wedding

If you are starting to think about wedding stationery check out this beautiful bird inspired design on the Elizabeth Ann Design blog.

Lots of other great ideas were used in the planning of the wedding.

"Kristine and Todd’s San Francisco wedding is a little bit rustic, a little bit modern, and a little bit whimsical all rolled into one. The result? A romantic garden ceremony and art gallery reception that is pure loveliness. Gladys Jem captured all of the beautiful images, and I’m in love with Kristine’s bouquet, created by Studio Choo!"

Finding A Perect Virginia Wedding Venue

If you are searching for the perfect Sydney Wedding Venue then it's worth reading the entry on the Elizabeth Ann Design blog about one couples search for the perfect venue in Virginia.

From the bride:

Even before we were engaged I was on the search for a Richmond wedding venue that would best suit our needs. Because we are very cost conscious, as well as working with an unusually large guest list (several hundred friends and family are being invited), we knew we needed to find a well-priced, yet very large, venue.

We want a very traditional ceremony that does not draw attention to us, but rather to the commitment we are making, and felt that a church setting would best fulfill this desire. Finding a church large enough for our crowd proved to be quite a challenge. I was not aware of how difficult it would be to find a church that allowed non-members to use their facility, much less the expensive fees that would be charged. After months of searching and a miraculous turn of events, our minister was able to secure what had once been the most expensive church on my list for a very minimal price. We were so thankful for his help.

We knew the reception venue needed to provide a change of pace because we didn’t want for our guests to have to sit idly for several hours during the reception. We also quickly realized that there are very few places available in Richmond that can accommodate a group of our size. We were forced to begin looking at outdoor venues and just pray for unseasonably warm December weather!

We were very familiar with Winterham Plantation, a beautiful nearby estate, because we had previously held a private family event there. We, along with 250 friends and family, celebrated my brother’s high school graduation with an old fashioned pig pickin’

Inspirational Milwaukee Wedding

If you are about to order a Sydney wedding cake you need look no further for inspiration than this simple but beautiful cake that was used recently at a Milwaukee wedding.

The wedding was organised by Golden Chic events and the full article is packed with other inspirational ideas.Read the full story here.

From the bride:

After six years of dating and over seven and a half years of friendship, Adam and I were incredibly excited to finally get married. We wanted our wedding to truly represent us both as individuals and as a couple. We envisioned a romantic yet chic event that modernized our distinct backgrounds while maintaining their cultural integrity. We wanted our friends and family to not only feel as though they entered an exclusive event, but to also feel truly loved. We wanted to sincerely thank them each for their continued love, support and impact on our lives. We accomplished this by both paying homage to our heritage throughout the event and also making the guests a part of our love story. This vision is best encapsulated by our favors: handmade, monogrammed truffles custom created to represent us as individuals, by reflecting each of our cultural backgrounds. Although each truffle featured completely distinct flavors, they complemented each other perfectly, just like Adam and I. Similarly, every out of town guest received a gift bag full of monogrammed snacks and beverages that also featured a custom newspaper designed to be a window into our lives. While the newspaper contained essentials such as descriptions of all of our wedding events (spanning four very busy days), we also included trivia, photos and stories of our past, present and future together as a couple.

Cupcake wedding favors

For our 10/10/10 wedding this past weekend, our couple wanted to do a donation in lieu of traditional favors. I am a huge fan of this idea as it was something that I did at my own wedding. I have seen far too many odds and ends used as favors and they have been left on the table at the end of the night. If that is the case, donating to a good cause is a nice way to spend your money.

However, they still felt as though they wanted to give their guests something small as a gesture of thanks. They really wanted to do truffles and I was thrilled to get to offer the services of Cacao Sweets & Treats, located in Chicago. They have all types of goodies that they make with high quality ingredients.  We are talking cupcakes infused with your choose of beer or wine along with the popular favorites like Red Velvet, and brownies with decadent flavors. Just reading the flavors makes me want one right now!

Delaney and Austin

Delaney and Austin's Nashville wedding didn't go according to plan. Well, not according to Plan A at least. After intense flooding in Nashville knocked them off course a bit, they resorted to Plan B and then finally Plan C for their May 2010 nuptials. With plenty of hands-on family and friends pitching in to create special details and set up the ceremony and reception areas, the couple was still able to say "I do" in front of their loved ones as part of a truly personalized day.

Wine Country Wedding

Wedding Photographers Erin Hearts Court have some beautiful images featured in a new post on the Style Me Pretty Blog:

You know…there is a reason that we are kind of obsessed with California weddings on SMP. It’s that they have their own attitude. That laid back, effortless elegance that we love to see in a wedding. Kind of like when your mom taught you that the best applied make-up should look like you aren’t wearing any at all. And this one, sent to us by two of our all time favorite photographers, Erin and Courtney of Erin Hearts Court, completely captures the spirit and the style of California weddings that we love so very much. Plus, all of you DIY brides will obsess over the super cute details it no matter where you live!

Wedding Venue In Charlotsville

The Elizabeth Ann Design Blog has just posted information regarding a wedding in Charottsvile.

When looking for a wedding venue in the Charlottesville area, Danielle recommended that we visit one of her favorite wedding venues, a farm in Scottsville, VA (about 15 minutes outside of the city).  The farm is owned by Shawn Cosette who is the owner of Beehive Events, an event styling and florist company.  When we visited the farm, we both immediately adored Shawn and the feel of the surrounding the area, and loved the idea of having our wedding somewhere unique.  While we ultimately decided to book the Clifton Inn, the farm was a close runner-up and I could tell that Paul was a bit disappointed to miss out on the opportunity to enjoy the farm and the surrounding area (more on th

Chicago Wedding

Ellizabeth Ann Designs have just posted a blog about a Chicago wedding.

One of the items featured is a beautiful rose petal decorated wedding cake.

Immediately after returning to Virginia, I went to work on the wedding cake for a friend’s upcoming wedding! Although this was a challenging task due to the fact that I had not previously done any wedding cakes, I considered it a great practice experience because I am doing a homemade wedding cake for my wedding as well!

Patisserie Inspired Table Shoot

The Ruffled blog has just posted an item on a patisserie inspired table shoot.

One of the items that took my eye were favour boxes.

Jane of Olive Hue Paper Goods created some darling favor boxes. Perfect for guests to take home a few macarons or a colorful cream puff! The boxes were topped with some vintage mother of pearl buttons from my personal collection. You can add buttons like we did, or any other kind of accent you wish. The box has a lovely pattern, so it will also look great without additional accents if that’s the look you prefer! No matter what you choose, your guests will love these adorable favor boxes!

DIY Wedding Cake Stand

It's Great to have a beautiful wedding cake but it's not complete without a beautiful cake stand.

The Austin Wedding Blog has a great article on how to make your own:

Want to add a bit of gorgeousness to your wedding cake presentation? Adding a cake stand is where it's at! I found this DIY tutorial over at Eat Drink Pretty that shows that it's not too hard to create your own custom cake stand for your reception. The best part about it is that you can obviously color match it to work perfectly with your existing wedding decor. The price seems right too!

Paper Quilling - The new trend in wedding decoration?

It's not always easy to come up with new trends when planning your wedding decorating.

The Austin Wedding Blog has described what could be an emerging trend:

Today, I want to share with all of you an emerging wedding trend that is beginning to catch on within the bridal industry. It's called paper quilling, and I'm absolutely in love with the design element of it. If you're not familiar, quilling is basically an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. The concept is inspiring brides to create intricate, low-cost wedding decor and eco-friendly floral alternatives. Look for this trend to gain popularity as 2011 rolls around. DIY brides are going to love this.

Upstate New York Wedding

Beautiful Wedding Photograhy in a beautiful setting for this wedding in upstate New York.

The wedding in question was recently featured on the Once Wed blog.

How much do you love the wedding of Courtney and Taavo Somer? I recently spotted their beautiful celebration on Little Winter Bride and couldn’t resist sharing some more image on Once Wed. Everything about this simple and lovely wedding just touches my heart. Isn’t Courtney’s Zac Posen dress absolutely sensational?

Colorado Wedding

A simple glass jar, some ribbon and a tag were all that was needed to make this effective bomboniere.

Featured on the Style Me Pretty wedding blog.

The Planning ~
My best friend’s mom was also our wedding planner, Willie Ripple. We wanted our wedding to incorporate the mountains, elegance, and a vintage feel. Also, because our faith is extremely important to us, we wanted to get married in a church. The church, overlooking the Continental Divide was the perfect mountain setting, and the Manor House, nestled in the foothills, provided the perfect vintage Colorado feel. (I am a Colorado girl and love all-things-vintage!)

Vintage Wedding Invitations

Ruffled recently introduced one of their sponsors - Royal Steamline.

This company manufactures a beautiful range of vintage wedding invitations.

A Wedding In Brazil

Beautiful polka dot bomboniere boxes were used fo this wedding in Brazil.

The wedding was recently feaured on the Ruffled website.

From the bride, Sharon: Fernando and I met on April 2008 while I was shooting his brother’s wedding. We joked around with each other, but nothing else. At the time I was dating someone else and never imagined what was about to happen! We saw each other again around the time I was delivering his brother’s wedding album and exchanged online chat usernames. We started to talk to each other and only six months after his brother’s wedding we had our first kiss. We’ve been together ever since. Then we got engaged, bought an apartment and set the date for Valentine’s Day. (in Brazil, Valentine’s Day is June 12).

Vintage Canadian Wedding

Lots of birds and birdcages were used to decorate this Canadian wedding featured on the Ruffled blog.

There are even birds perched on top of the wedding cake.

The story of the birds is told by the bride:

We didn’t really have ‘a colour’ but more of a colour palette. After we decided on the 50s-60s as a reference, I started looking around for vintage-inspired fabric for table runners. My mom, my mother-in-law and I found some awesome material at Jo-Ann Crafts in Ontario, California with blue, green, brown, ivory and taupe tones. As all of the decorating was essentially DIY, having the fabric was very helpful as it informed all of my other décor choices. After selecting the fabric, Kevin and I started hitting up thrift stores, flea markets, garage sales, and antique stores for various vintage pieces to adorn the reception location (and later our home). Some of the items that we found were, a globe, a 50s food scale, suitcases, a fan, typewriter, and a rotary phone. The other major elements in our décor were birds and birdcages. Initially, we had only planned to have a few birdcages and a few birds here and there but there more we found- the more we had to rescue!

Sun Valley Wedding

The Ruffled blog has recently featured a beautiful Sun Valley wedding.

To quote:

"Elia and James were married at Sun Valley’s Our Lady of the Snows.  Elia’s grandfather actually built the original Our Lady of the Snows in 1975, and although the Church was recently renovated, many of the original relics created by her grandfather were saved.  Her family is also remembered in the pavestones leading to the side entrance of the church.  All of their names are spread across stones in the shape of a cross, and at the bottom is a stone with Elia and James’s names and wedding date, which reads “Build in Love, Build in Faith."
