Colorado Wedding

Check out the wedding limousines used in this wedding.

After we found Piney River Ranch, with its extraordinary views, we focused on putting together a simple, vintage, fun wedding that would reflect our casual style while reflecting the natural beauty of the setting and the charming rusticity of the venue.Working with a small budget meant a lot of DIY by me and my sister – we made everything from the table runners to the favors to the escort cards to the photo booth to the s’mores table to the programs.  We decided to focus on quality food, drinks, and transportation for the guests, and save money in decorations.  We recruited help whenever possible: Randy’s long-time roommate, acted as officiant; Randy’s oldest friend, an artist, created the unique invitations from ‘cowboy’ and ‘indian’ childhood pictures of Randy and Katy; 2 friends contributed ceremony and cocktail music (bluegrass violin and banjo); Katy’s mother sewed the runners and tablecloths; Randy’s mother assembled the “R&B’s Grits” favors. So much internet research and a little trial and error gave us cheap, cute ideas to make sure the details reflected our style.  The best move?  The instant photo guest book and homemade photo booth – those pictures are priceless!!

Fort Worth Wedding

Fantastic pies served instead of wedding cake at this Fort Worth wedding shown on the Style Me pretty blog

This rustic romantic wedding was held in Fort Worth, deep in the heart of Texas. When we first met with Angela, the bride, she showed us her inspiration board and told us her number one goal was to have a wedding that looked like it came straight from Style Me Pretty!

Both their ceremony and reception were held at Art Space 111, which is an amazing art gallery that has a mix of modern and vintage elements. Her rich color palette consisted of fall tones with darker reds, raspberry, burnt orange, darker rum pinks, caramel and flesh tones. Floral designer, Debby Jewesson of Branching Out Events created a whimsical backdrop for their ceremony that was full of western chic items such as cowhide, antlers, tree stumps, and wheat. Their guests were greeted with homemade passion fruit lemonade garnished with sugar cane spears as they walked into the ceremony. The couples son was the precious ring bearer who was pulled in a vintage radio flyer wagon by the absolutely adorable flower girl.

Fall Wedding Inspiration

Fabulous wedding dress in this blog on the Wedding Chicks blog.

Sarah & Zach had a beautiful fall wedding in Southern Maine right on the coast. They valued their community of friends and chose someone they cared about for almost every vendor they used…from having a relative as their officiant to Sarah’s sorority sister as caterer and coordinator and assistant florist, and of course the photographer, Gwyneth Colleen. One of the most personal touches was the favors they gave the guests … Zach cut down trees and brought them home…they crafted the coaster sets from varieties of native Maine wood from start to finish…and they were STUNNING. You are so going to want to see more of this wedding.

Thanksgiving

Fabulous wedding decorating shown in this entry on the Style Me Pretty blog.

I wanted to create a look that is rustic and warm, without too much of the typical “thanksgiving” decor.  Much of my inspiration came from an amazing estate sale I found a few weeks ago.  This house was LOADED with vintage goodies- the yellow seat cushions, the Eames era chargers with a perfect patina, the gold rimmed glasses, the metal crate & the breadbox all came home with me that day for less than $25!   From there, I scoured more thrift stores to accent the look by putting together mix & match vintage silverware.

Texas Wedding

Fabulous wedding venue featured in this entry on the Style Me Pretty blog.

Melissa Boswell, a New York transplant was looking to plan very fun, Texas-style wedding.  Since the bride and groom had recently purchased a home in the very trendy Marfa, Texas it was only fitting to theme her wedding Marfa meets Manhattan!  We set up a vintage airstream for a bar and served fresh lime margaritas and martinis.  The menu featured chicken pot pies, tomato bisque, and frito pies, just to name a few. Instead of the traditional guestbook, guests were asked to leave a suggestion for the suggestion box!  To fight off the winter chill we gave the guests cozy pashminas and cream colored snuggly blankets.  Spiked hot chocolate also warmed up the guests for an evening of dancing to eighties cover band, The Spazmatics.  The bride and groom departed as any New Yorker would, via taxi cab!

Orchard Harvest Shoot

Stunning wedding images featured in this entry on the Style Me Pretty blog.

From Jenni at Royalty Pecan Farms - The idea for this shoot came to me as we began planning for our busy harvest season. Our venue is not only a one-of-a-kind facility for weddings but is also a working pecan orchard; so with fall fast approaching, pecans were certainly on my mind. Immediately I thought of Shauna for photography because she has the most creative style I’ve ever seen and I knew she could capture the light and colors perfectly. The color scheme was all things fall, lots of spice colors with bursts of yellows and oranges. I explained my vision to Brandy, the floral designer, and she ran with it. Everything turned out exactly how I had imagined, she is truly an incredible artist! I also incorporated hints of amber and burgundy into the invitations as well as guest cards. Of course, pecans were abundant as well since our shoot took place in the middle of the grove. They were used in the decor, favors, and food. We wanted to bring the harvest theme back into the shots as much as possible to inspire our brides with these fun, unique, and very Texan elements. Overall, my goal was to give brides a fresh look at what creative options are available to them in our town and the team I worked with did such a fabulous job of bringing it all together.

October Wedding

Pete and I met in San Francisco – he had moved there in 2005, and I in 2006. Although we met at a friend’s party soon after I moved there, we didn’t start dating until 2007 … and became inseparable after our first date in March 2007. We had SO much in common!

Pete and I flew to Boston for my friend Carrie’s wedding on July 4th, 2009, and I caught the bouquet! The next day, after walking around Boston with my parents, he proposed.

Green Wedding

Some great ideas in this green wedding on the Style Me Pretty blog. The only things missing are green wedding cars.

Working with local vendors and supporting green business practices was one of Kelly and Eddie’s main goals for their August wedding. That and to have an amazing celebration supported by friends and family. Kelly and Eddie are both architects with impeccable taste and a strong sense of style they had a clear vision for their special day.

Kelly and Eddie met their florist, Julia Lojo, owner of Bloomies, located in the Rockridge Market Hall, at their local nursery in the East Bay. Julia was just wrapping up a class on floral arrangement using locally grown, sustainable plants when they met. They were striving for a “green” wedding, so much so that they GREW THEIR OWN FLOWERS! Kelly and Eddie’s green friendly idea to supplement their floral arrangements with succulents and dahlias grown in their own garden was an instant hit with Julia.

Floral Design Studio

They are successful young suburbanites most known for their professional drive—he is a respected engineer and she a talented graphic designer. Whenever their busy lives allow, they take hour-long drives to Sonoma. Contrary to what a trip to Sonoma means to most young folks—a clumsy exploration of the wineries—these two choose to enjoy the tranquility of a quaint cabin, brisk hikes, or slow bike rides along highway 12. When they are not taking in the sites along the trails or roads, they indulge in one another’s company and vast collection of literature. The two are avid readers but use much of their quiet time in the cabin to dabble in some writing of their own. It’s this passion for the written word and great appreciation for nature that they hope to share with their wedding guests

Tree Farm Wedding

A beautiful tree farm was chosen as the venue for this wedding on the Style Me Pretty blog.

I’ve been working with brides and creating elements for weddings for about 5 years now, so my laptop was already full of folders bursting with wedding ideas. But when it came to my own wedding, I felt what probably so many brides feel–where to start? One of the beautiful things about weddings is how much they’ve evolved. These are not our grandparents nuptials. I believe the number one thing your guests should say from the moment they see your invitation to the moment they get in their cars after your reception is “Wow, that was so them.” So Dugan and I decided to start with the things we liked, and try to figure out how to make them all work together from there. My favorite color is yellow. (I believe it’s a completely underutilized “fall wedding color.” Look out your window now and what do you see? Yellow!) Dugan decided he wanted to wear a red tie and so I thought if that’s his one request, I’m going to figure out a way to make it work.

Art Deco Wedding

Great vintage wedding cars used in this wedding on the Ruffled blog.

We love anything vintage from our own house to furniture to architecture. Michael is a LA history buff and enjoys learning about historical architecture of LA’s old beautiful buildings and Carrie also has an appreciation for such LA gems. Because of our love of historic buildings we knew we wanted to have our wedding at a historic place- Union Train Station and specifically the Fred Harvey Room Restaurant, was the perfect location for us. The architecture is gorgeous and because it is a symbol of travel, it suited us perfectly since we also love to travel. We have been to Ecuador, Mexico, many countries of Europe and backpacking throughout California.

Australian Wedding

Beautiful wedding photographs shown on this entry on the Style Me Pretty blog.

We first met at high school in Perth. In fact, in that first year at high school, when we were just 12, we shared a kiss on school camp. Being typically awkward adolescents, what followed was silly practical jokes and constant teasing characteristic of young affection. We simply stayed friends through the remainder of school. After school we separately forged our paths. It wasn’t until 13 years later that a mutual friend from school, Jacqui (who was later to be my bridesmaid), decided that they we be perfect together. Jacqui had a few quiet words to David who immediately increased the frequency of his sweet messages via email and phone. David then flew from his resident Melbourne to my home in Perth to take me on our first date, and then a second, before flying home. In his speech at our wedding, David said he knew within the first five minutes of that first date that I was “the one”. I was instantly swept off my feet as well.

California Wedding

A beautiful rustic venue for this wedding shown on the Style Me Pretty blog.

Lots of details went into our big day! I pulled inspiration from old pictures, rustic barns and all things romantic. From paper flowers made out of old sewing patterns to silver candelabras, I wanted the day to have a rustic elegant feel with a touch of whimsical. My mom and I dreamed together and went on the hunt to find old books and scrabble letters for the centerpieces. My dad built the arbour which meant so much to me. It was beautiful with curly willow intertwined and laterns hanging from it. Tim and I love the country and the barn was the perfect mix of chic and rustic.

Kentucky Wedding

Elegant wedding invitations shown in this Style Me Pretty blog entry

All the details, weather, location, and people came together to make this one of the most perfect and unique weddings I’ve seen. The sky was blue, the air was crisp, the bride was stunning, and the atmosphere was full of joy. Ryan and Holly wanted a wedding that was simple, personal, and fun. They succeeded and even surpassed these expectations! The ceremony was held on the beautiful front lawn of the groom’s childhood home, and everything was personally planned to the detail by the bride. She worked for many hours to produce the decorations, centerpieces, and even a signing book station using a professionally produced engagement album from their recent session. The bride’s father used his skill in woodcarving to create the perfect announcement sign for the wedding, as well as many other additions to the decorations. It was a family event from beginning to end.

Planning my wedding was a little hard for me. I had an idea of what I wanted, but I felt like no one else could get the same visual picture I was going for. So I hooked up with Tiffany Ratliff from Weddings and the City. I told her I wanted a sleek, modern, contemporary wedding and I gave her a million pictures of different styles that represented me and my dream wedding! When I walked in the room the day of my wedding I was speechless and would only stand there in AWE as she gave me what I wanted and so much more!

I knew from Day 1 of engagement extravaganza that I wanted to have a hand in the design of our wedding so I started collected ideas and vintage finds right away. I wanted it to feel eclectic and fun and colorful while still keeping the focus on the sentiment of the day. I wanted our wedding to feel “sweet bohemian with a touch of glamour” and I couldn’t have had more fun designing it!

Parisian Inspiration

Fantastic wedding images in this entry on the Style Me Pretty blog. Well worth discussing some of the ideas with your Sydney wedding photographer.

I photograph weddings in France fairly often, but usually I only have a short time there before I’m off to my next event, so when I had the opportunity to spend a few extra days this July in one of my all time favorite areas – Montmartre – I couldn’t have been more thrilled. I jumped at the opportunity to put together a style shoot with some wonderful vendors – both American and French. I was inspired by the romantic style of Delphine Manivet’s designs, her stunning lace detailing and overall antique sensibility. I worked with these lovely vendors to put together a style shoot that would invoke the look of a royal wedding in Paris, incorporating Delphine’s gowns into the shoot. Ceci’s invitation suite kept this idea of a palace wedding in mind and played off the idea of love letters from a queen to her king. The invitation is finished with a royal wax seal and gold cord.

Vintage Mountain Wedding

Lovely floral cake toppers are shown in the entry on the Ruffled blog

I have always been obsessed with colors, so fall was the perfect time of year to get married. Our colors were: mustard yellow, teal, brown, and green. We used windows to symbolize home, family, community, friendship, openness, etc. We used antique windows (found for free or cheap on craigslist) as decorations.

DIY Wedding

Beautiful floral arrangements made from paper shown in this entry on the Style me Pretty blog.

Rings – I knew I was going to have a hard time finding a ring that I would want to wear the rest of my life! We started going to the local antique stores and tried on some AMAZING rings, one was a 5 kt Russian royalty ring from the 1890′s- a little out of our price range though haha. I was on my computer one day and looking online at some antique stores on the east coast- and found my ring! It was dated around 1920 and I instantly fell in love with the geometric design and the qualities that only hand-made jewelry has. We called the store and had it sent out. I had three days to decide whether I wanted to keep it or not….after staring at it for a few hours I knew it was the ring I had been searching for! Antique shopping for rings is just amazing- every one is so different and completely unique.

Barnyard Wedding

Great wedding favors shown in this entry on the Wedding Chicks blog.

Luke and I wanted a wedding venue that was relaxed and full of personality; we discovered Cayucos Creek Barn and knew we found the perfect place. We wanted our wedding to reflect our
personalities and make our guests feel at home. Luke and I are nerds at heart, so we were thrilled to use antique books as our centerpieces. We borrowed all of the books and mismatching antique lace we used as decor. The rest of our decorations were made by hand or found at local thrift stores. Luke spray painted the vases to make our flower arrangements pop. Our flowers were grown locally and put together by our dear friend Bethany Sechler who works at Santa Ynez Valley Florist. Finding out that the famous Splash Cafe (San Luis Obispo, CA) catered was a dream come true. They created a healthy and filling meal for our guests with fruit skewers, salad, and assorted sandwiches. All of the food was made from scratch and with local produce. We saved a great deal of money using biodegradable dinnerware. Our friend Kielly Lewis (Back to Eden Bakery in Portland,OR) combined some of our favorite flavors to create our vegan
cupcakes, which were a hit. Guests were thrilled with the photo booth and enjoyed pictures as keepsakes. Moore Photography captured our wedding flawlessly and creatively. We were incredibly blessed by our artistic friends and vendors who lovingly reflected our taste. They took our whimsical ideas and made them become reality.

Rhode Island Wedding

Fabulously elegant wedding stationery shown in this entry on the Style Me Pretty blog

John and I met at Providence College as freshmen in the winter of 2003; he from New Jersey, I from Massachusetts. After getting over our Boston-New York sports rivalry (luckily he’s a Mets fan), we became inseparable and fell in love.  We graduated, lived states apart, and couldn’t stand to be without each other, so in 2008 I moved to New York so we could be together.  We got engaged in March of 2009 and our wedding location was a no-brainer.  Working in NYC is great and we love our hectic city life, but we sometimes find ourselves wanting to climb to the top of the Chrysler building just for a view of the ocean.  Rather than risking our safety, we escape to Watch Hill, RI every chance we get for a much-needed dose of family, friends, and serene coastal living and that’s exactly where we would tie the knot.

Modern Wedding

If you are starting your search for Sydney wedding stationery you can't go past these designs on a recent Style Me Pretty blog entry.

Truth be told, we originally planned to get married in Palm Springs at The Parker Palms springs. I was sold on The Parker the moment I found out my favorite designer, Jonathan Adler, had designed the entire hotel and Terence was an easy sell once he saw how excited I was. Plans ended up changed and we decided to hold an intimate gathering in our hometown so our closest family and friends could attend. Since we weren’t going to be getting married in Palm Springs, I decided I would use the rich architecture and interior design from the area as my wedding design inspiration. Wanting to create an event that was modern and chic I decided to use black, white and yellow as my color palette with lots of bold graphic patterns.

When we first started the planning Terence and I had very different priorities. Being a graphic designer and the owner of a wedding stationery business (Pinkpolka Wedding Design), I was quite focused on the visual aspect of the wedding, while Terence put a large emphasis on the guest list and atmosphere. Although we had a few difference of opinions throughout the process, I have to admit that the different facets of the wedding we each were responsible for created a perfect balance in the end. I made sure the venue was decked out in the most fabulous decor and stationery, while he made sure the bar was stacked and the music created a fun environment.

Rancho Valencia Wedding

Gorgeous wedding images shown of this entry on the Style Me Pretty wedding blog. Lots of great ideas to discuss with your Sydney wedding photographer.

From Amorology…We always find inspiration from within our couples and in Caitlin & Matt’s case, we could not help but create a hopelessly romantic wedding for the two! Caitlin is a Texas girl with traditional roots, so we knew from the get go that her wedding had to be sweet but also have a punch of fun. She is definitely a romantic at heart with a sentimental side, which we wanted to highlight and share with her guests! With these ideas in mind, we formulated the concept of a Love Letters/Notes wedding.

The ceremony took place on the croquet lawn among a backdrop of sunny blues skies and hot air balloons. To honor Caitlin’s father, who had recently passed away, we brought in traditional bagpipe players as a nod to his Scottish heritage. Caitlin was escorted down the aisle by her brother Michael as the bag pipers surprise guests by emerging from a hidden walkway beneath the ceremony. Vintage sheet music was fashioned into petal cones that hung from the sides of chairs for guests to toss as the happy couple walked by.

Kansas City Wedding

Great wedding video shown on this Style Me Pretty blog entry. Plenty of ideas to discuss with your Sydney wedding videographer.

The story of how Danny and I met seemed to be a bit too perfect. Who meets on an airplane, especially on the way home from Vegas, through notes and poems passed via a flight attendant? I honestly thought it would be a fun few months of country concerts and we would move on. Before we knew it we were together two years going to Key West to celebrate. Little did I know Danny had flown down the same Southwest Air flight attendant who helped us meet to Florida. There she handed me what I thought was the last poem on the rocks of Key West. This note included his proposal to marry me! My dream had come true and I was completely surprised!!

Georgia Wedding

A fabulous wedding cake with cute little birdia cake toppers is shown on this Style Me Pretty entry. Great ideas to discuss with your Sydney wedding cake maker.

From the start, Marc and I wanted a wedding that truly felt like us- fun, exciting, eclectic and a little different from the norm. Every little detail had a meaning behind it, making the day all the more special for both of us. We fell in love with the Carl House from the start. We loved the big backyard, the rustic, vintage feel of the decor and the brick wall backdrop where we’d say our vows- mostly, we loved how it felt like home. We wanted our guests to feel completely at ease to let loose and dance like crazy. The planning process was really a joint project. Marc was involved from day one- he built the wishing tree for our guests to sign when they first arrived at the wedding and handpicked the groomsmen’s outfits. Yellow has always been my favorite color and little bursts of it could be seen throughout the wedding. I wanted my bouquet to be unique and different- I fell in love with the billyballs in it and we used them throughout the ceremony and reception in the decor. My sister and I scoured Etsy.com for DIY ideas and we made the frame for the seating arrangement and the heart canvas that housed Marc and my engagement photos. We wanted each detail to have a twist on the traditional.

Vintage Farmhouse Wedding

What a beautiful farmhouse setting. If you are looking for a Sydney wedding venue it might be worth considering the outdoor option and incorporating some of the ideas shown in this Style Me pretty blog entry.

We wanted our wedding to be beautiful, fun, down to earth and delicious. We picked the venue, the John J. Audubon Center at Mill Grove, PA because it captured the combination of outdoor simplicity and vintage elegance that we love so much about our family home in Vermont, and we picked colors of blues, whites, greens and soft browns to reflect the venue. Wherever possible despite our busy schedules (throughout the planning process, the bride was studying law in New York City while the groom was in medical school in Philadelphia), we tried to create details that were handmade, and include our loved ones’ talents. The veil was designed by Dante and her mother Lisa, and Lisa hand knit the veil in cashmere and silk over the course of an entire year. The veil was inspired by Shetland lace knitting, in which the traditional wedding shawl is supposed to be so fine that it can fit through a wedding ring. The dress was custom designed in collaboration with the bride, and hand made by the amazing Holly Greenhagen of Dame Couture in Evanston, IL. The stationery was sourced at Papersource, and was inspired by the theme of a tree since the ceremony took place in a pear orchard. Several details were found on Etsy.com, such as the vintage croquet set and custom rubber stamped table numbers which also carried through to the place cards featuring each guest’s entree of choice in picture form, hand stamped by the bride. The bride also made the favor labels and boxes, which included the couples favorite candy, gummy bears, with Jordan almonds as a nod to their shared Italian backgrounds. The bridal party made the ceremony decorations by hand of loose lavender in brown paper to toss. The band was Via Audio, who are friends of the couple. Wedding bands were handmade by Beth Cyr, and the engagement ring is a family heirloom from the bride’s great grandmother. The wedding party wore dresses and suits by J. Crew, with the flower girls in Little Angels. Photography by the wonderful John and Kim Sanderson, and catering by Jeffrey Miller (including the made-to-order donut stand, which was a huge hit!). We loved every single vendor we worked with, and we are so grateful for the beautiful day we enjoyed with all of our family and friends!

Handmade Wedding

Although most of the work was done by the couple the decorating of this wedding on the Style Me Pretty blog would put many professional to shame.

Discuss some of the great ideas with your Sydney wedding decorator.

Young couple and new parents, Beka and Josh, live in a tiny mountain town outside of Phoenix and had an extremely limited budget for their wedding, but wanted to invite practically their entire town population. Luckily, the bride and her mother are both artists and very crafty and were able to create all of the details on their own.

The bride spent weeks preparing. Cutting and stringing all of the birds, creating all of the decorative pinwheels for the cupcakes, directing her fiance (who is a carpenter) to build frames to house the pictures of them together as they grew up (yes, they’ve know each other since they were babies!), etc. They also recruited a small army of town-folk to help decorate, put together floral arrangements set in colored glass (collected by the bride and inspired by Martha Stewart’s recent article on colored glass collections), set-up tables and chairs and even cater the food. The ceremony was an extremely private ceremony which couldn’t be photographed, but the party was held at a friend’s cabin down the dirt road and nearly the whole town DID attend and pitched in to help. I was honored to also pitch in and help as the bride was one of my former wedding photography interns and now a good friend. This wedding truly took a village to create and was down-home charming!

Beautiful Boston Wedding

A lovely feather cake topper tops off the luscious white cake shown in a recent entry on the Style Me Pretty blog.

As a planner, I go to a LOT of weddings. In some ways this made planning my own wedding a little bit harder (so many choices! so many wonderful vendors! so MANY color combos), but in some ways it was just really, really fun. I felt so lucky on wedding day to have not only my family and friends around us, but also to have lots of my work friends there too, busily buzzing around behind the scenes making sure everything was running perfectly.

We had the most amazing weather. Choosing April 30th for a wedding in New England was always a little nerve wracking. I kept telling myself and anyone who would listen that it would probably snow. It didn’t! It was a perfectly beautiful 75 degree day – just right for our outdoor ceremony, and a couple cocktails and rounds of croquet on the back lawn of The Crane Estate.

Napa Valley Wedding

This recent entry on the Style Me Pretty blog shows elegant wedding invitations with a tree motif. They are worth a look.

From about 2 weeks into our relationship, I knew he was it – the guy, the one. We were best friends from day 1, and that’s exactly what I was thinking while I walking down the aisle “there’s my best friend (insert ridiculously large grin)”. So when, after about a year of dating, he proposed we knew that we wanted to get married as soon as we could realistically plan a wedding. Our dream was to get married in Tuscany, but the most important thing for us was to have everyone there and we knew Italy would immediately eliminate some of those people.  The best alternative to Italy was Sonoma, California with the rolling hills, wine, and great food! We both love to travel, so we thought “why not go on a weekend trip with our families and closest friends?”

Ranch Wedding

Check out the simple white bouquet used by the bride in this entry on the wedding Chicks blog. It's the sort of idea you could discuss with your Sydney wedding florist.

“Miranda’s mother, Lisa Pimentel Johnson is an experienced wedding coordinator, and did a fantastic job of pulling off the lovely Anthropologie-theme of the day.  Miranda’s colors were gray and yellow (ah, my faves!), and she had her bridesmaids wear their choice of gray dresses paired with yellow shoes.  Miranda herself wore a gorgeous ivory gown with bright red Sam Edelman flats and turquoise fabric flowers.  The venue suited the bride and groom perfectly, with its brightly colored houses and furniture with vintage appeal.  The reception set up was great- long rows of tables and ‘farmer’s market’ florals in little glass vases, along with a variety of brightly colored and patterned cloth napkins and bunting flags to match.  The ceremony was full of emotion and sincerity and I loved how Miranda & her father took their time to walk down the aisle.  It was so nice to see Jake and Miranda taking everything in.  One of my favorite parts of the day that I photographed was the cake cutting.  Jake and Miranda had a delicious cheesecake (topped with the cutest bride-mouse and groom-mouse!) for just the two of them.  Capturing Jake accidentally dropping a small piece of cheesecake into Miranda’s dress, and then kissing some cheesecake off her nose was priceless.”

Funfair Themed Wedding

Beautiful bomboniere boxes used in this wedding on the Ruffled blog

We turned the shed into a barn and decked it out with an area for the band, a massive haystack for the kids to climb, a photo booth, and a lolly bar. We created a loft area where our guests could relax, and filled the shelves with caramel apples, fairy floss and home made chutney. We also had two food booths in the barn where the guests would go to get their meal…and in true country fair style, they ate gourmet sausages, corn soaked in butter, and sweet potato with cinnamon and sugar!

Lauren and Kyle are a couple near and dear to our hearts – in fact, their story touched many of the professionals and planning this event became a labor of love for all involved. Both Lauren and Kyle’s father’s have battled cancer in the past year – more recently, Lauren’s father underwent treatment and up until two weeks prior to the wedding, it was uncertain that he would be able to attend, nevertheless walk his daughter down the aisle. We all did our best to plan Lauren’s dream wedding in just under 5 months to give Lauren’s Dad the best chance of being there to walk his daughter down the aisle.

Inspired Photo Shoot

Stunning white wedding flowers were part of the decoration at this wedding featured on the Style Me Pretty blog. If you are soon to discuss your arrangements with a Sydney wedding florist show them this.

Always inspired by fashion, we drew our inspiration for this Fall shoot from the classic all American brand Ralph Lauren. We wanted to translate the Ralph Lauren themes of tradition and elegance into a fall-appropriate tablescape, dessert table and bridal look. To achieve this we used a quiet color palate of neutrals and infused natural earthy elements into the floral design to keep the overall design from feeling stuffy. We chose the lovely Nixon Library as our venue since it captured the feeling of a grand estate hosting an intimate affair in the gardens. For the bride, we choose a beautiful lace A-Line dress from L’ezu for its classic lines and subtle detailing, including the pleated chiffon skirt, and silk covered buttons down the back. To play up Ralph Lauren’s equestrian heritage we took some fun shots with the dress paired of elegant riding boots and a simple blusher veil adorned with a few pheasant feathers (pheasants being another classic fixture in Ralph Lauren). The bride’s jewelry was kept simple; a beaded necklace in fall bronze, gold and silver was garnished with a chocolate brown ribbon, and a gold flower cuff adorned her wrist.

Retro Wedding Invitations

The Wedding Chicks blog has just featured an item on retro wedding stationery. It you are looking for elegant wedding invitations this would be a good source of ideas.

“In order to save money and full control over our own engagement shoot, we decided to do it all ourselves, armed with only a camera and a friend to help us oversee the shot and press the shutter button. I have also been doing my research online and saw so many pictures that are so inspiring and beautiful. And I thought to myself, I can do that too! Granted, I’m not a skilled photographer nor do I have the equipment to back me up, I do however have a DSLR camera and a love for experimenting. There was so much I wanted to try and I got so excited that I forgot about the other options and just decided that we would do the shoot ourselves!

Malibu Wedding

I loved the bird cake toppers shown in this entry on the Style Me Pretty blog.

I’m from New Jersey and my husband is from Sydney Australia, but since we now call each other home, we couldn’t think of a place we wanted to have our wedding more than where we currently live together….Los Angeles. We chose Calamigos Ranch in Malibu for its utterly perfect natural beauty and decided on a date at the end of August when the weather is still warm, but not too hot and the days are still long, but the golden sunset would glow just in time for our post ceremony pictures

South California Winery Wedding

Stunning photography is a feature of this wedding described on the Style Me Pretty blog. Show the shots to your Sydney wedding photographer when planning your wedding shoot.

I loved chandeliers, hanging crystals, candelabras, birdcages, pearls, peacock feathers, anything vintage, black and white, and damask…I wanted to do something that was different…something that was ethereal and romantic, yet modern and chic, with rustic elements…hence, the manzanita branch tree centerpieces with hanging crystals and vintage brooch glued on to the ribbon…So, I ended up taking my favorite colors, sugarplum and black and started there…I also tied sugarplum ribbon around each one of the black folded napkins and glued a vintage pearl button for the perfect touch!

Richmond Virginia Wedding

A beautiful outdoor setting was the setting for the wedding celebrations featured in this blog on the Style Me Pretty site. Well worth showing to your Sydney wedding caterer.

Paul and Teresa met while she was at a University Northern Ireland, from which Paul hails. The couple wanted to make sure the wedding incorporated each of their cultures (with him from Ireland and Teresa with her Bolivian and American roots). They used the Irish “claddagh” throughout the reception (cocktail napkins, cake topper and thank you cards) as it’s a symbol for love, friendship and loyalty.

They had salsa dancing during the rehearsal dinner and reception for Teresa’s Bolivian side. For Southern flair, the couple hosted their wedding at Tuckahoe Plantation, which is the boyhood home of Thomas Jefferson. Their invitations incorporated dogwood (Virginia state flower) and their guests enjoyed Virginia peanuts in their welcome bags.

California DIY Wedding

A simple but elegant wedding dress can be seen on this entry on the Ruffled blog. A good place to start if you need some ideas before ordering a Sydney wedding dress.

We really hoped for something home-made with a touch of backyard comfort; a collaboration of family members and friends. Something vintage and comfortable where everyone felt like family. And when I say “we”, I really mean, my husband as well. He was a huge part of the whole process. He wanted to help with everything from the planning process to the DIY projects

Maryland Manor Wedding

It's time to look for your Sydney wedding venue. Check out how the venue was organised on this Style Me Pretty blog for some ideas.

When Daniel and I first got engaged, we had no idea when our big day was going to be- we were in no particular rush, and hadn’t even thought about what kind of wedding we wanted. But those days of being engaged were some of the happiest days of our lives, and we quickly realized why: Taking that step into announcing to the world our intent toward one another drew our attention back to how much we truly loved each other and wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. This realization led to something kind of silly: One day, while talking, we just said “I can’t wait to marry you”….then there was a pause, and then, “Let’s just do it tomorrow!” Well, we didn’t do it the very next day, but we pulled off the wedding in a record 5 weeks- from designing invites to walking down the aisle. This short time-frame, and the fact that I’m a student on sabbatical, also meant that we had almost no savings whatsoever, so armed with a total budget of under $10,000, we took on every D.I.Y. project conceivable- a challenge mostly exhilarating and at times, extremely overwhelming. Every hand-painted invite, every boutonniere, lantern, and place card was lovingly assembled by me and Daniel.

North Carolina Wedding

Every one looks laid back at this wedding on the Wedding Chicks blog including the marriage celebrant. See if you can find a similar Sydney marriage celebrant.

She created the invitations, the ring pillow, and the flower girl’s basket. She sculpted two adorable gnomes out of clay to use as toppers for the cake her mother-in-law baked.  She sewed the bridesmaids dresses and built the structure that held twinkle lights and surrounded her guests while they ate the home cooked meal her family had prepared.  They baked little pies for each guest to take home as a sweet gesture. Talk about a homemade wedding!

Retro Wedding On Ruffled Blog

Beautiful wedding decoration in a beautiful setting. It would be well worth checking out this entry on the  Ruffled blog before briefing your Sydney Wedding Decorator.

From the bride. We wanted our guests to feel as if they were invited to a party, rather than a serious or formal event. We tried to give things a DIY and retro feel without going overboard or getting too campy; since we both work in library settings we thought it would be cute to have a bookish feel to our seating cards and wedding favors. We picked a venue that was already heavily decorated and visually dynamic so we could keep to simple flowers and table linens. All in all, we think it was a success!

Montreal Loft Wedding

Fabulous wedding featured in this recent entry on the Style Me Pretty blog. Of special interest were the elegant wedding invitations.

When we started planning our wedding we knew we wanted to create a setting that was a true reflection of our personalities and life together while making the evening a memorable event for our guests. Our first priority was to find the right venue. Through our work in the Montreal wedding industry we had seen so many weddings in different venues and we knew right away that we wouldn’t have the wedding in a traditional wedding hall, nor did we want it somewhere that we had seen a lot of other weddings. We wanted to find a place that would feel unique to us. We loved the idea of getting married in an industrial, loft style art gallery. The Parisian Laundry had everything we were looking for: old Montreal character, huge windows, exposed brick, and it definitely wasn’t a place that typically holds wedding. It was perfect! Since it is first and foremost an art gallery, they have very little availability for private events. Serendipitously we were driving by one afternoon and stopped to inquire about availability for Sept 4th, which was our first choice for wedding date. As it turns out they were between exhibits that weekend and could accommodate us. As we were discussing details with the gallery coordinator, someone else called to reserve the same date. Fortunately, just moments before we had placed our reservation. Talk about good timing! The next priority was photography, and this was an easy one for us. We knew Davina + Daniel’s work, and we knew that they had exactly the right style that we wanted for our wedding. They approach their work with a photojournalistic style, and achieve photos that not only document events, but also truly convey the emotion of the moment. Plus, they are cool people that are pretty fun to spend the day with!

New England DIY Wedding

There is a recent entry on the Style Me Pretty blog which features a wedding with lots of really interesting DIY elements.

Rather than use bomboniere boxes they have used jars of preserves with exquisite labels as favours.

From the beginning, Dave and I knew our big day had to represent the couple we’ve become over the last eight years spent together. We also knew it all had to take place on my family’s farm in Plainfield, New Hampshire. Dave and I hold this place very near to our hearts so it was only natural to invite everyone up to Riverview Farm for the wedding festivities. During the fall, the farm is open for pick-your-own apples and features a corn maze designed by a local artist, Gary Hamel. This year we were honored to have the story of the maze inspired by our wedding. As a surprise during the rehearsal dinner night, we revealed to our bridal party that they were each a scarecrow featured in the maze. It was so much fun walking through the corn and watching as each member discovered their own scarecrow. It was the perfect kick off to a truly memorable weekend and was a nice way of letting our friends and family know how much they mean to us.

Green Vegan Wedding

There is a great story on the Recycled Bride blog. it features a lot of diy personall elements. I particularly liked the beautiful cake topper

The entire menu, including the beautiful wedding cake below, was vegan. Having a vegan wedding, or incorporating vegan and vegetarian dishes, helps the environment because meat production is energy-intensive and damaging to the environment. It can also save you money, and look and taste as great as a conventional menu!

Savannah Wedding

A great vintage wedding car was featured in this entry on the Style Me Pretty wedding blog. If you are about to organise your Sydney Wedding Cars this entry would be worth a look.

Having my wedding in Savannah, GA was a dream come true for me. Because my mother grew up in Savannah, it’s like a second home to me. After Adam proposed on a park bench in Savannah, we knew it was the only place we would ever want to have our wedding. Almost immediately after we were engaged we booked the Olde Pink House for our reception, which was very fitting because the night Adam proposed we ate dinner in the ballroom at the Olde Pink House. The Olde Pink House is also a place of fond memories for me because my family spent several Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners at this restaurant.I have been dining at the Olde Pink House since I was about eight years old! Their event coordinator, Bianca Raub, was amazing and always such a pleasure to be around. The colors for the wedding were inspired by the gold and platinum murals of Savannah’s landscape in the ballroom of the Olde Pink House.

Sally and Oliver were married at the Waveny House in New Canaan, Connecticut on September 25th. Sally wore a beautiful lace Birnbaum & Bullock gown with a Maria Elena headpiece and her mother’s lace veil. Oliver and his groomsmen dawned custom grey suits with yellow ties and purple socks. The maids chose gowns in shades of grey with flower and ruffle details. They had a gorgeous evening wedding with a Jewish ceremony in the walled garden with the majestic Waveny House as a backdrop.  Guests arrived to the ceremony greeted with drinks and snacks in paper cones. Ivory pashmina’s were rolled into a rustic basket and tied with gray satin ribbon. The chuppah was planted in four garden urns with a canopy made of the families prayer shawls.

Pennsylvania Wedding

Lot''s of really good ideas featured in this wedding on the Style Me Pretty blog. Take a look at the elegant wedding invitations.

Our favorite memory of the day was our wedding parade! The first vendor we hired wasn’t the caterer or the photographer, it was Ray the Scottish bagpiper. One of the only things we knew in our initial planning phase was that we wanted to parade our guests through town, past the lantern lit historical buildings and through the friendly streets of Doylestown to the reception site at Aunt Sara’s house. This made picking a church very easy – it had to be within walking distance of our reception site, a.k.a Aunt Sara’s which was 7 blocks away! The parade was filled with fun touches that Amber Karson Events created for us. Groomsmen held up a homemade banner that read “Just Married”. Tristan and I carried large, white balloons. Walter, our spoiled English bulldog and ring bearer, was kept in tow with the help of a red, Radio Flyer wagon. And each guest happily waved their ribbon wands and fabric pennants. Cars pulled over and honked their horns wishing us good luck as we walked by. Looking back, it was like something out of a story book. The smiles on our friends and families faces were absolutely priceless. We paraded under the bluest sky and brightest sun that afternoon. When we arrived at Aunt Sara’s our paraders where served Tristan’s favorite drink, Bourbon & Ginger Ale with a slice of lime. Antique drawers I sanded and painted served as trays for the drinks, which were served up in hand blown tumblers and adorned with gray and white paper straws…the perfect refresher after the long walk through town.

What a beautiful wedding cake! If you are about to appoint your Sydney wedding cake maker thak a look at this first.

We are both English but met whilst work in Sydney, Australia where we both still live. We were introduced through mutual friends. After nine months of being good friends, the relationship turned romantic. After two happy years together, Charlie proposed during a sunset walk on the beach in Bali.

Living in Australia we have a very outdoorsy lifestyle and really wanted to marry in the outdoors. We wanted to marry in England where we are both from, but the good old British climate isn’t really suited to such a wedding so we decided to move the celebrations to Europe- close enough for people to travel and we still got to have our outdoor sunny wedding! Having holidayed in Italy many times, we decided on Italy and as soon as we saw La Cervara we just knew! It was breathtakingly beautiful and we just fell in love with it. It was hard work planning it from Australia with the time difference and distance, but it was all so worth it in the end!

Great use of succulents, sunflowers and autimn colours in this entry featuring wedding bouquets on the Wedding Chicks blog. If you are in the process of finding a Sydney Wedding Florist this would be a great place to get some ideas.

Minnesota Farm Wedding

A beautiful wedding has just been featured on the Style Me Pretty blog. Lots of beautiful pictures but check out the beautiful cake toppers.

Shabby-chic. That, in one word is what best describes the feeling of our wedding. Back when we got engaged around Christmas, I immediately started visioning a wedding that could take place in an Anthropologie store. I’ve always been in love with the modern vintage look – a mixture of classy meets quirky. Now, we all know weddings can be extremely expensive – especially when getting caught up in all of the little details. When I say “details,” I mean everything from the invitations and place cards, to the table settings and favors. I’ll be honest in saying that it’s hard not to pay attention to these things. After all, these are some of the things that your guests will remember, and set your wedding apart from the 100 other weddings that they will attend over the years. As I started looking for inspiration, I found that weddings have become a huge industry. You can find everything you need for your big day on one stop on-line stores. Unfortunately, everything on these sites seem to be cheesy, plastic, cookie-cutter visions of someone else’s cardboard wedding. So, with realizing this, I decided to take on these “details” myself. After all, I wanted our wedding to be one to remember – and what better way to personalize something than to personally making these things yourself? We chose to go with a muted teal, and orange color theme. It ended up being a lovely combination – just look at the pictures! Once these colors were picked, everything seemed to fall into place. I went to school for graphic design, and am currently looking for any opportunity to use what I’ve learned. So, I attempted to use my creative design skills for all of the printed materials – the save-the-dates, the invitations, and the programs. We decided to get married in Stillwater, MN at Camrose Hill Flower Farm. It’s a delightful place – landscaped with old red barns, and flowers in every direction. The pavilion and tent where the reception took place was glittered with lighted branches, lanterns, and vintage chandeliers which hung from the ceiling. I really wanted to capture the feeling of the farm in the invitations. By using the chosen colors, and creating layers of vintage patterns, they turned out to be perfect. After the invites were mailed out, and the wedding day was approaching, I found other do-it-yourself projects. We painted Mason jars a light teal color – replicating the old ones you see at antique stores. We went to every thrift store imaginable to find random vases – varying in size. The centerpieces for the reception ended up consisting of one jar filled with beautiful orange and white flowers, and two mismatched skinny vases. They looked beautiful on the orange tablecloths.

Sonoma Wedding

Beautiful bomboniere boxes were a feature of this recent wedding in the Style Me Pretty blog.

Emarie Chervinskas of A Savvy Event teamed up with Emily Baker of Frenchie & Flea to create this intimate wedding. With a small budget and big vision, we were able to create a rustic, California wine country wedding with an Italian flair with DIY projects, vintage finds, and unique touches that reflected the bride’s vision. The color palette was pulled from the in-season harvest, including heirloom tomatoes, herbs, root vegetables, sunflowers, and the golds and greens of the vineyards.

California Ranch Wedding

A lot of work was done by the bride to plan this beautiful wedding. Of particlular interest to me were the elegant wedding invitations.

The inspiration for the day was definitely the venue itself. We wanted it to feel cozy, natural and effortless – so the decor would just blend in and highlight the beauty around us. I am an avid estate sale antique hunter and love the feel classic and simple that timeless pieces create. We collected over 100 glass bottles of all colors from many different places, with our favorites coming from the Alameda Antiques Fair, which is a huge fair on an old airport tarmac with an amazing selection of antiques of all kinds. we also found a lot of wonderful old lace as well as inherited some of my grandma’s lace to adorn the tables with the colored bottles. I wanted the flowers to have a wildflower feel and Leah and Rafael at Spiral Hand did an amazing job. My girls wore beautiful dresses of their choosing in muted ivories, blushes and pinks, and they looked incredible. I love that they can wear their dresses again! the boys looked great in grey slacks with ties we bought in Italy when we were on vacation, and black chucks, Andres’ favorite shoes. With the raw linen tablecloths, colored bunting flags my mom and nephew made, and gorgeous flowers, it was perfect.

Phoenix Wedding

The wedding favor is an important part of any wedding. If you are planning yours have a look at the beautiful way the bomboniere boxes are decorated for this wedding on the Style Me Pretty blog.

The guests were greeted at the cocktail hour with a beautiful harvest table which displayed the shabby chic shutters used to display the escort cards. The reception continued the design concept with anemone and moss green centerpieces and flax linen napkins embellished with natural twine and dried lavender. The candles were wrapped with natural twine and the table numbers were printed with deep purple ink on lavender paper in a detailed ivory frame. Candles in mason jars were hung from the beautiful rustic chandeliers and lit up the room. The floral and purple and green accents were carried onto the cake. At the end of the night, the shutters were reused as a backdrop to the baskets of fresh bread and small jars of homemade orange marmalade from the orange groves at the Royal Palms, which were used as favors for the wedding guests.

If you are discussing your wedding with your Sydney Wedding Videographer show him this entry on the Style Me Pretty blog. although the shots are stills many could still be adapted to make a stunning wedding video.

I am an old soul. Through and through. Luckily, I found another old soul to share our crazy time together on this lovely planet. Andrew and I met in the fairytale town of Watch Hill, RI. A little place that loves old souls. My family has always loved the area and Andrew’s family is from the area. Our paths crossed in the sleepy summer of 2004 when I was spending my last days between college and the real world on the beach. He was there too. We meet at a mutual friends cookout, and really, our lives were never the same (corny and oh so true). Six years later when Andrew proposed there was no question where we would get married. We would most definitely start the next chapter right where our story began – in Watch Hill, RI. Luckily for the wedding/ design obsessed person in me – it’s the most beautiful place in the world (biased opinion, yes). We didn’t want to take away from the natural, New England beauty but we also wanted to make it was completely personal and memorable. That was a big director in our creative vision for the wedding. We wanted something classic, timeless and simple in a way that was focused on the purpose of the event. We chose the colors (blue & yellow) to compliment the ocean and our amazing reception venue – The Ocean House. We wanted our little details to look almost as if they belonged there. From the table cloths to the pillows we brought in to our Adirondack chair guest book – everything was to appear as it happened effortlessly. Of course, the amazing Sarah True of TRUE Events had a LOT to do with making everything look so effortlessly perfect. Also note, my dad made the shutters for the escort cards – he told me he wants full credit

Wedding by the sea

Stunning wedding decoration shown in this recent blog on the Little Black Book site. Plenty of ideas to discuss with your Sydney wedding decorator.

This quaint couple met, fell in love, and brought the majority of their family & friends from England in celebration of their marriage! This beautiful destination wedding was located on the water at Villa Aloreon, a private residence, in Fort Myers, Florida. The three story villa was large enough for the entire wedding party to stay and continue their fun. Kate had her hair and make-up done on site, and then shared a romantic first glance with Tim prior to meeting their wedding party for pre-ceremony photos on the picturesque grounds of the Villa Aloreon. Their ceremony on the bay was created to be very intimate and simply romantic underneath the bamboo blessing canopy. The cocktail hour had swaying sheer aqua linens and accents of sea glass, shells, and candles. A bubble motif was carried throughout the wedding, both high and low through details such as invitations, menus, escort cards and paper lanterns. The reception also included crisp white linens topped off with cheerful centerpieces consisting of deep purple hydrangea and bright coral roses. To add a little bit of European flavor each guest received a monogrammed pillow box of English breakfast tea.

North California Wedding

Finding the best person to make your Sydney wedding dress isn't easy. It helps to have a good idea of what you want before your first meeting with the dressmaker.

There is a great design for a wedding dress as well as bridesmaid dresses on this recent Style Me Pretty blog entry.

From the cakes down to the authentic Mexican Tacos, our wedding represented everything we love. Instead of having a stuffy reception we wanted to have an outdoor garden party with our closest friends and family and keep the feeling light-hearted and simple. My mom’s gorgeous yard was the perfect venue. I absolutely love how everything turned out. Even the napkins made me happy! The bright colors and fresh flowers gave a very fresh and organic feel that we loved. We tried to carry the garden theme throughout the reception with vintage watering cans, various wildflower arrangements, flower seed packet favors, pictures hung on garden trellises, etc. We even supplied Jones soda to help personalize the event and add a fun flare. All in all it was an amazing day and we cannot believe it has already been a year!

Pennsylvania Movie Theatre Wedding

Thinking about wedding cakes? Consider using monogram cake toppers like this Pennsylvania couple.

Ryan and I met through a series of events at the church we both attend. After a strategically planned first date ~ in case it didn’t go well ~ we saw each other almost every single day after that! Throughout our dating relationship, Ryan was always very creative. On January 22, Ryan wrote a series of notes that took me on a trail of surprises beginning with a massage at a spa, flowers, and a stop at my favorite coffee place. The trail ended in Inner Harbor Baltimore where we went to dinner and Ryan read his final note which ended with his proposal! A ‘long’ six months later we got married at the Carlisle Theatre which was absolutely perfect from head to toe. Every detail was in place by JDK and Sarah’s Floral design, and Hales Studio was there to perfectly capture the excitement of our wedding day.

Garden Party

If you're tired of searching for a Sydney wedding venue because most of them are booked so far ahead why not consider a simple garden party.

Take a look at this recent entry on the Style Me pretty blog.

The inspiration for this shoot began with a small piece of scrapbook paper which had a design in tiffany blue and orange. I loved the way these colors worked together so the search was on to find fabrics that reflected and coordinated with this color scheme. Once found, these fabrics set the tone of the event as a lively, outdoor garden party. In retrospect it is fun to consider how the whole design took shape, as one detail determined the next. Tara, the florist of A Day in Provence, did an amazing job of mixing sweet and whimsical flowers with brightly colored fruit to draw out the colors of the pattern in the floral fabric of the table runner. Each place setting was further adorned with dainty ranunculus blossoms. In order to pull in the colors of the overall scheme, Tara used tiffany blue ribbon on the bridal bouquet covered with crocheted lace. The floral print from the fabric was also repeated on the paper pieces designed by Sarah of A Milestone Paper Co. The playful invitations she designed captured the feel of the event with hand-stitched embellishments and intricate calligraphy by Rosann Konieczny. Personalized drink stirrers replaced the usual place cards for a creative twist. Sarah also carried out the vision I had of attaching baskets to the bride and groom’s chairs as a way to drop in sweet love notes for each of them.

Winter Wedding

When you meet with your Sydney wedding photographer to discuss your weddding shots it would be an idea to show them the fabulous shots shown on this recent blog entry on the Style Me Pretty site.

Nick and I met in college and became good friends directing a singing/ dancing/ acting show together. We were just friends for 6 years until Nick moved to Denver after he graduated. (and broke my heart!) I made plans to move to Thailand to teach in an orphanage and work with refugees for a year when he began to pursue me. However, I just wasn’t sure yet and wanted to focus on moving. I made him wait 4 months until he flew all the way around the world to visit me on my birthday! He walked off the plane and I called him my boyfriend and 2 days later we said we loved each other! We dated on Skype and he visited me again on his way to live in an orphanage in Kenya. He stayed there for 5 months and I came for 5 weeks after my year in Thailand. We both got home in August and we got engaged in September! Whew! I love being married to Nick, he is amazing!

Yosemite Wedding

When discussing your arrangements with your Sydney wedding florist why not consider lavender as the couple in this wedding featured on the Style Me Pretty blog have done.

Ari and I dabble in photography and it is rare we are ever on the other side of the lens.  So finding the right photog became a bit of an obsession in planning.  My love for film was what lead me to Kirsten’s amazing work, and after the slightest bit of correspondence, I knew she was the one.  Her images are beautiful, warm, unique, full of light – just like the talent, herself.

We knew from the start that we wanted a very small, budget-friendly, and fuss-free wedding.  Our families had not met in the four years we dated, due to distance, so the intimacy of the venue and weekend was the number one priority.

Elegant wedding stationery is one of the highlight of this wedding on the Style Me Pretty blog.

After 30 years of going to weddings and being in 10 weddings, I had a pretty good idea of what I did not want to incorporate in my own wedding…trick was, i wasn’t exactly sure about everything I did want. I started asking myself questions and thinking back to some of the weddings I had been involved in that I really enjoyed. I envisioned different aspects of my special day and took note of what I was drawn to… colors (neutrals with aqua and teal accents), textures (burlap and lace) and charming things (birdcages and antiques). Tearing out pages of magazines and reading blogs like SMP helped me further define my wedding style. My inspiration started coming together with a quilt that I had found on etsy.com and a nicole miller bracelet from anthropologie that my parents purchased for me and gave as Christmas gifts. Both were incorporated into our wedding.

Malibu Ranch Wedding

A beautiful wedding cake on a table surrounded by toffee apples is one of the features of this entry on the Once Wed blog.

Design elements were both sweet and rustic. Saddlerock is known for their animals roaming the grounds so we set up a “feed the animals” station for guests to wander and pet the camels, zebras, horses, etc. We used a mix of wildflowers, dahlias, ranunculus, berries, apples, geranium, and herbs to create a harvest, organic feel for the florals. We hung mason jars with muslin on the branchy alter filled with florals for a swaying touch of femininity. As a guest book option, we created custom booklets for each dinner table with fun questions to answer about Lacy and Gordon. Such as “What kind of pets will Lacy and Gordon have?” “Where will they travel to in their life?” “Tell us their best traits that will help them in marriage.” We set a pencil at each place setting and it was sweet to watch the guests get so involved in creating these keepsakes.

Bald Island Wedding

I loved the cake toppers shown in this blog entry by Style me Pretty.

This was one amazing day. I first met Ann Yates mother and father last winter and felt instantly at ease. With their family enjoyment comes first- and they really want everyone to have a good time no matter what you’re doing We decided a first look would be best so that Ann Yates and Jon could go on and enjoy the entire reception with their family and friends.

All weddings are surrounded by tons hoopla, emotion and a teensy bit of stress- but I have never seen anyone relax like Ann Yates did when she saw Jon for the first time that day. Jon was adorable- he wanted Ann Yates to tie his bow tie properly. Sweet love.

Southern Farm Wedding

One of the costliest items in a wedding is the Sydney wedding catering. After spending so much money you want to get it right.

For ideas on how it should look you can't go past this wedding on the Elizabeth Ann Designs blog.

The tablescape is all about elegance and classic Southern tradition – think Southern Living with a little vintage twist!  The setting is the farmhouse’s front porch and I am in love with the lavender and china blue color palette against the natural wood chivari chairs.

Rachel and George are a couple that is all about family, friends, and unbridled good times.  And they have a lot of all three.  So, when they started planning their wedding, finding a venue that would enable them to entertain their guests without the standard restrictions of a typical event space was at the top of their list.  A space that was also reflective of their modern sense of style, and unique flair for the unexpected, was also a must.  They found both at Locusts on Hudson, a privately-owned home along the spectacularly picturesque Hudson River in Staatsburg, NY. Locusts on Hudson is one of the few properties along the east bank of the Hudson River where the train tracks run behind the property instead of in front of it, allowing for completely unobstructed views of the river.  Equally important to Rachel and George was the fact that Locusts on Hudson, being privately-owned, allowed them to rent the property exclusively for the entire weekend.  This gave the couple the freedom they wanted to create a personal, unique and private weekend-long destination event for their guests, free of pre-determined caterers, bar packages, and – perhaps most importantly for this fun-loving crowd – restrictive time policies, which came in handy as late evenings turned into early mornings.  Multiple guest houses on the property meant that the couple’s entire immediate family, wedding party, and closest friends could all stay on the property, lending an intimate and relaxed vibe to the entire weekend

Cooperstown Wedding

When you are dealing with a Sydney wedding planner it is an excellent idea to have a list of features you would like incorporated in the wedding celebrations.

You should check out what other brides have done by reading blogs such as the Style Me Pretty blog.

From Jessica  of Jessica’s Country Flowers…Caitlin and Mike applied for our deserving couple contest back in 2009.  They were going through some family issues and struggling financially.  Mike was leaving his job to go back to school full time and they were living off of one income.  They are such a loving couple, devoted to their family and to each other.  We couldn’t of selected a more grateful and truly deserving couple.

  • When Eric and I saw each other all dolled up for the first time during our big reveal and when we arrived at the Elysian (our wedding venue) in a horse-drawn carriage. Matt and Melissa did such an amazing job capturing these moments!
  • Matt’s amazing same-day edit, which we watched through a crack in the door, since we were hiding in the hallway before our official introduction as husband and wife.
  • Our first dance, for which I changed into a custom-made Latin ballroom costume. Eric and I worked so hard to learn an amazing, choreographed routine for our first dance and we didn’t want our hard work getting lost under my wedding dress! When the music started, Eric came out on the dance floor alone and I made my entrance a few moments later. Our guests were completely shocked by my costume change and the intricate routine–everyone said we belonged on Dancing With the Stars! Our friends, family members and co-workers are still talking about our first dance!
